This is what is being proposed for increased building heights in Mona Vale. Proposed is building height of 23 metres or stated 6 storeys will be permitted shown by dark blue shading areas (1). Current height limit is 13 metres. WHY IS AN EXTRA 10 METRES REQUIRED FOR ONLY 2 ADDITIONAL FLOORS. The additional 10 metres height will actually allow buildings of 7 STOREYS height. Also 4 storeys as shown by pink shaded areas (2) including on 3 sides of Village Park. And 3 storey apartment buildings in residential streets where currently only 2 storey dwelling houses are permitted as indicated by light blue shading areas (3). Furthermore the light blue shading will allow residential apartments above all the industrial units between Darley Street and Bassett Street areas (3) . The light blue shading area will allow for 3 storey blocks of units up to 12.5 high where currently only hosues are allowed and the current height is 8.5 metres. Download a bigger plan below:-
These building heights are not representative of the communities feedback during the consultation phase for drafting the Mona Vale Place Plan. Why has Pittwater Council done this? Is it developer driven? Who is really behind it?
