"save mona vale" from speeding trucks Almost 4 years after the Cootes Petrol Tanker fatality on 1 October 2013 trucks continue to speed down “Death Hill” on Mona Vale Road at Mona Vale. On 23 June 2017 at 2.10pm a Kuring-Gai Soil Recycling Truck with Registration No. KSR 002 was filmed travelling down “Death Hill” on Mona Vale Road at excessive speed by not obeying the clearly visible road signs “Steep Descent” and “Trucks & Buses Must Use Low Gear”. This is a disgrace in the memory of the 2 people that lost their lives in the Cootes Petrol Tanker crash. Why aren’t the authorities and Police doing more to stop this excessive heavy vehicle speed offence occurring? Maybe a speed camera should be installed to help address this issue and save lives.
