ABOUT THE COUNCIL:
Stretching from Palm Beach to Manly, the Northern Beaches boasts more than half of all
the beaches in Sydney and a population of more than 266,000. The Council is
committed to maintaining a high level of customer service to the local community.
Northern Beaches Council is working closely with the community to build strategies that
enhance our quality of life, promote sustainable development and protect our
environment.
SERVICE REQUIRED:
Council is seeking quotes from suitably qualified contractors to deliver the Mona Vale
Place Plan.
The Place Plan will have the objective of delivering a place-based, tactical oriented
strategy to address the current and future needs of Mona Vale. The process will
incorporate all the feedback obtained during Imagine Mona Vale and will also consider
the local and district role of Mona Vale as a strategic centre within the North District as
noted in Planning Priority N10 Growing investment, business opportunities and jobs in
strategic centres.
Towards 2040 Northern Beaches Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) reinforces
the commitment Council made to recommence the Mona Vale Place Plan. The new
Place Plan will be informed by the technical work associated with the Towards 2040
LSPS such as the Local Housing Strategy and Employment Strategy.
The main objectives of the project are to:
Establish a new community engagement plan to facilitate further engagement on the
project,
Incorporate previous feedback and contemporary planning context into the Place Plan,
Incorporate recommendations from the Northern Beaches Local Housing Strategy,
specifically Centre Investigation Area,
Deliver (exhibit and adopt) a Mona Vale Place Plan
The works are to be carried out strictly in accordance with the requirements in this
document. To have quotes considered, contractors will need to ensure that all required
information requested in the Request for Quotation document is provided.
Expected commencement of contract: November 2021.
Council aims to report a draft Place Plan to Council mid-2022.
